THE INVESTIGATOR'S NOTES / CASE 003
The story behind the evidence.
01
THE CASE
What arrived on the desk.
A medical nonprofit serving communities in Cambodia was speaking to donors, patients, and volunteers through one channel in one undifferentiated voice. The care was extraordinary; almost none of that reached the feed.
02
THE EVIDENCE
What turned up.
- Donor appeals and patient information competed in the same channel.
- The brand changed across decks, flyers, and posts.
- The most powerful material—the stories from the clinics—was rarely told.
03
THE INVESTIGATION
The strategic read.
Give every audience its own lane, then build a communication system a volunteer team could realistically maintain. Consistency mattered more than volume because trust was the real ask.
04
THE MOVE
What I did about it.
- Set the brand and voice across communications and fundraising.
- Ran social media management end to end.
- Built content pillars separating donor, patient, volunteer, and community messages.
- Created story and appeal templates volunteers could reuse.
- Led mission storytelling from the Cambodia clinics.
05
THE RESULT
Case conclusion.
One brand, three audiences, and a steady voice—with the mission leading communications instead of trailing the logistics.
